The Huntington City Council convened for a regularly scheduled meeting on January 21, 2026. The session took place at the city office building located at 20 South Main and began at 6:30 p.m.
Approval of Consent Agenda Items
The council addressed several items through a consent agenda, which included the approval of City Council minutes from December 17, 2025, as well as the review of financials and city claims.
Personnel and Regulatory Updates
During the meeting, officials considered various actions including business license approvals and hiring for Planning and Zoning and Code Enforcement. The council also reviewed updates regarding the State’s Land Use and Development Management Act, 9-8 section updates, and 9-2 definition updates.
Financial Bids and Training Requirements
Other agenda items involved the Utah Local Govt. Trust PEHP refund/bonus, a bid for beautification flowers, and annual training requirements for OMPA and fraud prevention.
Departmental and Youth Council Reports
The meeting included reports from the Mayor, the Fire department, the Maintenance department, and the Zoning Administrator. The Youth City Council also provided a report.

As part of the annual proceedings, elected officers addressed the Annual Conflict of Interest Disclosure and Ethics Pledge.
