More than a dozen members of the 1996 Orem High football team gathered for a 30-year reunion on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. The group was honored at halftime during the Tigers' game against Pleasant Grove.
The reunion included former players traveling from locations such as Puerto Rico, Indiana, and Colorado, according to quarterback Austin Berge. Members of the 1996 squad visited the renovated Orem High campus and met with former coaches to discuss the past. The 1996 team finished with a 10-3 record and advanced to the 5A state finals, where they lost 13-7 to Skyline at Wildcat Stadium in Ogden.
The Tigers secured a 35-10 victory over Pleasant Grove on Friday, Oct. 2, 2026. Beckham Curtis rushed for 226 yards and a touchdown, including 185 yards in the second half. Defensive end Krew Jones recorded two short scoring runs for Orem. Pleasant Grove's Corbin Robbins tied the game early with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
The 1996 team featured players such as fullback Jared Harper, lineman AJ Dimick, Andrew Boren, receiver Jason Kukahiko, defensive back John Barlow, tight end Jon Faldmo, and running back Adam Leifson. Austin Berge, the starting quarterback for the football team, was also the starting point guard for the basketball team and a starting center fielder for the 1997 5A championship baseball team.
Orem, which holds a 5-2 overall record and a 4-0 record in Region 7, is scheduled to travel to Payson next Thursday.
