Real Salt Lake will host longtime rival LA Galaxy on Saturday, Nov. 7, at America First Field in Sandy. The match serves as the conclusion to the club's 22nd Major League Soccer season, with the team needing a win to potentially secure a postseason berth.
According to a November 2 report, Real Salt Lake can qualify for the 2027 MLS Cup Playoffs by winning the upcoming match if Colorado, Portland, or Seattle each suffer a loss or a draw. Currently, Colorado, Portland, and Seattle each sit at 43 points, one point ahead of Real Salt Lake. However, Real Salt Lake holds the tiebreaker advantage over those three teams due to having as many or more wins and a superior goal differential.
If Real Salt Lake wins on Saturday, Nov. 7, and one of those three teams falters, the club could finish as high as 7th overall in the West. Such a result would mark the team's sixth consecutive year advancing to the postseason, the eighth time in the last nine years, and the 16th time in the last 19 campaigns.
The matchup is scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. MT kickoff. The full Major League Soccer schedule for the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs Wild Card Round will be announced on the evening of Decision Day. The Wild Card matchups are scheduled to be played on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the homes of the eighth seeds.
The Audi MLS Cup Playoffs Round One Best-of-3 Series will be announced on the evening of Sunday, Nov. 8. Leg One matches are scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, and Sunday, Nov. 22. If necessary, Leg Three matches would be played on Tuesday, Dec. 1, and Wednesday, Dec. 2. The MLS Cup is scheduled to be played on Friday, Dec. 18, or Saturday, Dec. 19, at the home of the highest-remaining seed in the 2026 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs.
