Granite School District is seeking community input regarding potential programming changes, boundary adjustments, and school closures due to declining student enrollment, according to an October 13 statement. The district has contracted with MGT, an independent K-12 demographic consulting firm, to support these ongoing planning efforts.
The district has released a Preliminary Community Input Survey to help MGT understand the priorities and viewpoints of families and communities served by the district. This survey serves as an opportunity for community members to provide candid input before the formal planning process begins in earnest.
A community-wide public meeting hosted by MGT is scheduled for Nov. 19 at 6 p.m. in the Taylorsville High School auditorium. The meeting will include discussions regarding the results of the survey and other initial feedback. However, officials noted that no scenarios or recommendations have been developed at this stage, and it will be too early to discuss potential boundary changes or school closure recommendations during that meeting.
Ongoing information and data regarding the study can be tracked on a website hosted by MGT. Questions regarding the process may be sent to boundaries@graniteschools.org.
