Deer Valley Resort has launched the first phase of its Expanded Excellence initiative, introducing new terrain and enhanced access through the newly constructed Deer Valley East Village. The expansion includes the opening of the Keetly Express chairlift and several new ski runs.
The Keetley Express and Aurora chairlifts, along with several newly developed ski runs, opened to skiers on December 31, 2024. This milestone provides access to over 300 acres of previously unskied terrain. The Keetley Express serves as the resort's first six-person chairlift with a bubble and connects skiers near the bottom terminal of the Sultan Express chairlift on Bald Mountain.
In addition to the new lifts, the expansion includes the opening of the newly extended McHenry ski run and six additional brand-new runs. The Deer Valley East Village provides 500 additional day-skier parking spots and features amenities such as a Deer Valley | Helly Hansen retail shop at the Grand Hyatt Deer Valley, a Skier Services facility for ticketing and lessons, and a guest shuttle service.
A Grand Opening Celebration is scheduled for January 9, 2025, from 8 to 9 a.m., to celebrate the official debut of the Keetley Express and enhanced connectivity. The first 500 skiers arriving at the East Village and riding the Keetley Express will receive complimentary treats and a commemorative sticker. Todd Bennett, Deer Valley President and Chief Operating Officer, stated that this expansion represents a transformative moment for the resort and its guests.
