Drought conditions ranging from severe (D2) to extreme (D3) continued across much of Utah in August 2026. The drought impact statement noted these conditions persisted across large portions of the state.
In the Saint George area, temperatures were forecasted to be hot. High temperatures were expected to reach near 106 degrees on Thursday, with highs of 102, 103, and 103 degrees forecasted for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday respectively.
Weather patterns included a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon on Friday, and a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight on Friday night. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms was also forecasted for Monday and Wednesday.
At the St George Regional Airport, conditions were recorded with a temperature of 93 degrees Fahrenheit, 20 percent humidity, and a heat index of 89 degrees Fahrenheit.
