Christensen Farms is offering pumpkins, squash, and other fall decorations at an honor-system stand located at 234 E. 200 S. in Lehi, according to a report published October 4.
The Christensen family, who operate their farm about two miles south of American Fork, brought back the front-yard stand this season following a positive community response to their direct sales last year.
The honor-system stand allows customers to select produce and pay without a cashier or employee present. Shanna Christensen stated that the family decided to sell directly to provide the community with better value on locally grown fresh produce compared to their traditional wholesale model.
This season, the family doubled the number of pumpkins and squash planted and introduced new varieties. The selection includes large and small pumpkins in orange, green, and white, including "warted" varieties, as well as plain white and mini pumpkins. The stand also features several varieties of squash, including butternut, buttercup, acorn, and spaghetti squash, along with corn stalks for $5 each. Pumpkins and squash are priced between $2 and $6.
The family manages the stand through multiple trips throughout the day to replenish stock from their farm. While the seasonal stand focuses on autumn items, Christensen Farms also grows corn and hay, selling those products when available via Facebook Marketplace.
Shanna Christensen noted that the family enjoys seeing the pumpkins on neighbors' porches and watching children pick out their pumpkins. The family hopes to eventually expand their offerings and introduce a wider variety of products to keep customers returning throughout the year.
Christensen Farms has deep roots in the area, with six generations of the Christensen family operating the farm. The business provides agriculture and service to the communities of American Fork, Lehi, and surrounding areas.
