Ogden Valley City has voted to defer approximately $682,000 in major road maintenance projects from summer 2026 to summer 2027, according to a September 22 report. The City Council made the decision as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 budget to ensure available funding supports both routine maintenance and essential public safety services.
The City Council reduced the FY27 roads budget from $2,160,425 to $1,478,468, adopting what officials described as a minimum necessary budget. As a result of these shifts, asphalt overlay projects on nearly two miles of heavily deteriorated roads will be postponed until 2027. These deferred projects include sections of 3350 North, 1450 North, 1275 North, 1100 South, Innsbruck Drive, and 5950 North. Chip sealing projects will also be delayed until 2027.
Planned spending for the upcoming year includes $914,000 for routine road maintenance and repairs and $500,000 for snow removal. Additional allocations include $35,000 for pothole patching on the deferred roads, $14,000 for pavement striping near intersections and schools, and $15,000 for weed removal. Ogden Valley City has contracted with the Weber County Roads Department to provide all road services, including snowplowing, potholes, signage, storm drains, and scheduled maintenance.
The city manages over 63 square miles, having inherited more than 100 miles of public roads, nine miles of public trails, and multiple sanitary sewer systems from Weber County following incorporation in January 2026. While the city manages roads and trails, it does not own or provide drinking water or sanitary sewer services; those systems are independently owned and operated by over 80 private companies and utilities.
The city owns and maintains the nine-mile Pineview Loop Pathway, which is a non-motorized corridor connecting areas around Pineview Reservoir. Weber County Property Management maintains the paved pathway, with support from Eden Valley Trails through a Memorandum of Agreement. The city also contracts with WM for residential trash collection services.
Residents should contact the Weber County Roads Department to report potholes or other road issues. For after-hour emergencies requiring immediate attention, residents are directed to contact Weber County Dispatch.
