The city of St. George is preparing for Dixie Days, a weeklong celebration scheduled for Sept. 14-20. Presented by Tech Ridge, the event is intended to bring the community together to celebrate local heritage, creativity, and hometown spirit.
The Dixie Days Festival is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Vernon Worthen Park. Hosted by the Downtown Farmers Market, the festival will feature food trucks, artisans, bakers, and fresh produce, along with attractions such as live entertainment, tractor rides, a petting zoo, and bouncy houses.
Other scheduled activities for the week include:
Monday, Sept. 14: A golf tournament at Southgate Golf Club at 8 a.m., a concert in the park at 7 p.m. featuring Ned LeDoux in The Bareback Jack Tour: A Tribute to Chris LeDoux, and a drone show at 9 p.m. above Red Hills Desert Garden.
Tuesday, Sept. 15: Utah’s Dixie Exhibit from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. in the St. George Tabernacle basement, film screenings at Historic Town Square at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Songs of Utah’s Dixie at 7 p.m. at the St. George Tabernacle.
Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 15-16: Dixie Treks featuring tours of local historic sites.
Wednesday, Sept. 16: Free Community Day at the Utah Tech University Human Performance Center from 6-10 p.m.
Thursday, Sept. 17: Dinner on Main from 5-9 p.m. on Main Street.
Thursday through Saturday, Sept. 17-19: The 93rd annual Lions Dixie Roundup at the Dixie Sunbowl beginning at 7:30 p.m. nightly.
Thursday through Sunday, Sept. 17-20: The Dixie Days Carnival located in Town Square.
Saturday, Sept. 19: The Dixie Days Dash at 7:45 a.m. starting on 200 South at 400 East, and the Dixie Roundup Rodeo Parade at 9 a.m. along 100 South.
