The Sevier County Landfill provides specific guidelines for waste disposal and operational hours for residents. Managed by Anthony Giddings, the facility operates with defined rules regarding what materials may be accepted at the site.
Accepted Waste Materials
According to landfill guidelines, all loads should be covered and separated into specific categories. Acceptable waste includes yard waste such as lawn, dirt, and weeds, as well as tree limbs, cement and stumps, fencing, iron and metal waste, and household items like paper, plastic, and glass.
Prohibited Items and Restrictions
Certain restrictions apply to specific materials. The landfill will not accept drums between 10 and 55 gallons unless both ends have been removed. Hazardous waste, including gas cans and propane tanks, is prohibited. Additionally, the facility will not accept liquid waste, oil, items longer than 8 feet, or waste originating from outside Sevier County.
Special Handling for Specific Goods
While paint up to 5 gallons may be accepted at the landfill gate, certain items such as iron, washers, dryers, refrigerators, and batteries cannot be dumped with regular waste.
Location and Operating Hours
The landfill is located at 3498 E. Sageflat Rd. at Highway 24 Mile Marker 12 in Sigurd, UT. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. The landfill is closed on Sundays and holidays.
