The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has announced that the April 2026 General Conference will take place on April 4–5. This worldwide gathering serves as an opportunity for members to experience peace and hope through Jesus Christ.
General conference occurs twice a year, during the first weekend of April and the first weekend of October. During these sessions, Church leaders from around the world share sermons focused on the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The event is a global broadcast streamed and live-broadcast in approximately 70 languages, with later translations available in more than 100 languages. The conference consists of four two-hour sessions that can be viewed live or on an individual schedule.
Participants can gain spiritual guidance, inspiration, and a sense of connection to the global Church community. The teachings often provide practical advice regarding personal development, service to others, and family relationships.
For those living in the United States or Canada who wish to attend in person, tickets are distributed through local stake leaders. A standby line will be available outside the Tabernacle on Temple Square for overflow seating, with potential seating in the Conference Center as availability allows.
The Church invites people of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds to participate in the broadcast. To prepare for the conference, individuals are encouraged to reflect on questions through prayer, listen for personal revelation, and record their impressions in a journal.
Music during the conference is provided by The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square along with other Church choirs. For accessibility, the Church provides several formats, including ASL, closed captions, DAISY format, talking book cartridges, and web Braille options.
