Springville High School Law Enforcement students participated in a simulation to experience the effects of impaired driving using impairment goggles.
Resource Officer Austin Johnson led the activity, which used the goggles to simulate the experience of driving while intoxicated.
The exercise involved students attempting to walk a straight line while wearing the goggles. According to a report by SHS Digital Media, the activity began with laughter but was intended to provide a powerful lesson regarding the risks of getting behind the wheel while impaired.
Students featured in the activity included Max Groneman, Ashley Solis, Gunnar Emery, and Heagan Christmas.
