Iron County is maintaining a dedicated resource for public information concerning proposed data center projects. The county intends to update documents and information as they become available to ensure the public can review materials and participate in relevant meeting processes.
A 180-day moratorium is currently in effect following an ordinance adopted by the Iron County Commission on May 26, 2026. This moratorium prevents the acceptance and processing of new land use applications related to solar power plants, data center power plants, and data centers.
Regarding current applications, the Antelope Data Center was scheduled for review by the Planning Commission during the June 4, 2026, meeting at Festival Hall. This specific item was not slated for a public hearing.
The Red Butte Data Center application is currently on hold. While the application was submitted on May 4, 2026, it was deemed incomplete on May 22, 2026. Due to the 180-day moratorium, the application is not being processed until the moratorium period concludes.
Information regarding public meetings, agendas, and updates may be posted on the Planning Commission meeting page as items are scheduled by the county.
