Provo CAPS instructor Erica Persson was awarded a Mini-Grant by the PCSD Foundation to purchase EKG machines for her students.
In the medical strand, students are using the machines to gain hands-on practice with an essential tool for the field.
Using these machines, students can earn certifications that can lead to high-paying jobs, with many earning approximately $25 an hour immediately after high school.
This program is intended to give students a head start on their futures by providing hands-on experience and job-enabling licenses, while offering a look at careers in the medical field.
