Sally Mauro Elementary in Helper, Utah, held several community and school-related events, including Back-to-School Night on August 26. The event included dinner provided by the PTO for parents and guardians who attended a session and received a voucher.
The school also hosted The Big Smiles Dentist on Thursday, September 10, 2026. Families interested in having their child seen that day were asked to return an application or sign up online at www.MySchoolDentist.com.
Carbon School District also sought candidates for various positions at Sally Mauro Elementary. Openings included a Librarian, a Music Specialist, a Lead Preschool Teacher, a Kindergarten Aide, a SPED Paraprofessional, an Aide, and a part-time Custodian. Applications for these roles could be submitted online at www.carbonschools.org.
The school community council was also seeking parents interested in serving on the School Community Council (SCC). Interested individuals could pick up and complete a 2026–2027 SCC Candidate Application at the school office before September 1, 2026.
For families with children in PreK-2nd grade, the Waterford Upstart interactive learning program was available to help build skills in reading, math, and science at no cost for qualifying families.
