What a fun and eventful week at Shoreline! I had the opportunity to see our students showing school spirit, getting involved, and enjoying some memorable experiences together.
Last week, Shoreline participated in the Provo High Homecoming Parade, and it was a great time to hang out with our Student Government, Panther Way Team, and Latinos in Action students. Shoreline definitely made an impression with a well-decorated trailer, a boat, a K-truck, and even LLAMAS! It was a fun way to represent our school and show our Shoreline spirit. See our social media pages for some great pictures highlight Shoreline's participation in the parade!
This week, I continued visiting classrooms and seeing our students in action. In Mrs. Wright’s English class, students were discussing character relationships in stories and thinking about how those relationships shape the characters and their experiences. I also visited Mrs. Larsen’s class, where I even got to jump in and help with some of the PE activities! In Mrs. Ordaz’s class, students were busy making German pancakes. It was great to see students learning through hands-on experiences and enjoying their time together.
We also ended the week on a high note by celebrating our wonderful custodians for National Custodian’s Day. Our custodians do so much behind the scenes to keep Shoreline clean, safe, and welcoming, and we are grateful for all they do for our school community. Thank you for everything you do!
Friday was also a special day as Shoreline participated in the statewide Read-A-Thon. The entire school stopped what we were doing and spent 30 minutes reading. It was awesome to see our whole school come together around something as important as reading.
At lunch, our Student Government and Panther Way Team kept the reading spirit going with incredible activities and a fun photo booth. Every student also added their favorite book to a star, creating our school-wide display, “A Galaxy of Great Books.” One of my favorite parts has been seeing students use passing periods to stop and read the stars, discovering new books and getting ideas for what they might want to read next!
Thank you to our students and staff for making this another great week at Shoreline. I am proud of the enthusiasm, creativity, and school spirit I see throughout our school each day. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to another great week ahead!
