West Bountiful faces a busy stretch of events and infrastructure changes, according to an October 9 report from Davis County Utah. The city has scheduled fall cleanup activities, a holiday office closure, and a multi-month road closure for the FrontRunner 2X project.
The city's fall cleanup is scheduled for Oct. 15 through Oct. 17 at the Public Works facility located at 1410 West 1200 North. Waste drop-off will occur from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, or until the bins are full. During these three days, the city will cover green waste costs at the Bountiful Landfill, which normally accepts green waste for a small fee year-round.
A significant traffic disruption will begin on Oct. 15 when Pages Lane closes near City Park and I-15. This closure is expected to last through Jan. 25, 2027, to accommodate work for the FrontRunner 2X project. The city has established a detour at 400 North across I-15 and anticipates heavier traffic in that area during peak hours. While the project may cause noise, dust, and vibration during daytime work, FrontRunner service will not be affected.
Regarding municipal services and community events, West Bountiful City offices will be closed on Monday, Oct. 12, for Columbus Day. Recycle collection is scheduled for Oct. 12–13. Other scheduled community activities include an Arts Council Concert featuring Cowboy Poetry on Friday, Oct. 9, from 7–8 p.m., and an appearance by the WB Paul Revere Riders on Monday, Oct. 12, from 5–7 p.m.
The city's upcoming meeting schedule includes a Planning Commission meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. and a City Council meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m.
