About
Anthony Washburn is a Democratic candidate for Utah State House District 21 in the 2026 election. He is a self-employed hairstylist and small business owner who moved to Utah in 1987 from Idaho and has lived in the Westside of Salt Lake City for the past 22 years. He has been involved in community groups including the WE Connect Board and Poplar Grove Community Council and previously served on the Westside Coalition board.

supports improving physical and safety challenges dividing West and East sides of Salt Lake City.
West side Improvements
supports responsible growth addressing housing, parking, and community preservation.
Equal rights
believes all people are equal and should be treated equally by the law; will fiercely represent and defend everyone in the diverse West Side.
Affordability
believes new growth must address rising living costs to prevent displacement; supports keeping food, utilities, and housing affordable, responsible financial support programs, and accessible affordable health care.
Safety
supports investing in programs to strengthen school and neighborhood safety and keep streets and parks clean and welcoming.
