Charles A. Stormont

Charles A. Stormont is a Third District Court judge in Utah, appointed in June 2023 by Governor Spencer J. Cox to serve Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties. He graduated from Davidson College in 1998 and from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2001, and immediately before his appointment was Director of Right of Way and Property Management at the Utah Department of Transportation. His prior legal work included roles as senior counsel at Utah Transit Authority, of counsel at Fabian VanCott, member of Stormont Billings PLLC, and assistant attorney general; he was also the Democratic nominee for Utah Attorney General in 2014.
