Christina “CJ” Hernandez is a Weber County native and former senior U.S. diplomat with 20 years of service who worked at Hill Air Force Base for a decade before her diplomatic career, including visa processing, human rights reporting, and election observation; she later served as Ogden City’s diversity affairs/community affairs coordinator. She is the Democratic nominee for Utah State Senate District 5 in the 2026 election after winning the Democratic primary on June 23, 2026, and the convention earlier that year, running against Republican Jill Koford in the general election on November 3, 2026. No incumbent is listed in the race.

Where they stand
