Dakota Wurth is a Democratic candidate who ran for Utah State Senate District 5 in the 2026 election. He is a 30-year-old Clearfield City Council member, one of the youngest elected officials in Utah, and the first openly LGBTQ+ elected official in Davis County history. Wurth graduated from Weber State University and Western Governors University, has a background in housing and public policy from running affordable housing programs in Davis County, and lives in Clearfield with his husband.
