David Chappell is a Democratic candidate for Utah House of Representatives District 62 in the 2026 election. He is a queer civil engineer and BYU graduate who grew up in Arizona, moved to Provo for college, and founded the Cougar Pride Center, an LGBTQ+ resource center at BYU. He has personal experience with financial struggles during college and is running to represent everyday Utahns in areas including south Provo and north Springville.
