Douglas John Nielsen is a Utah Fourth Judicial District Juvenile Court judge who appears on the 2026 nonpartisan judicial retention ballot. He was appointed to justice courts in January 2013 (Lehi City and Alpine/Highland City) and appointed by Gov. Gary Herbert to the Fourth District Juvenile Court bench in 2016. He earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University in 2004 and a law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2007, interned with public defender offices, and practiced privately including as a partner at Petro & Nielsen before joining the bench.
