Douglas John Nielsen is a Utah Fourth District Juvenile Court judge serving Juab, Millard, Utah, and Wasatch counties. He was appointed to the juvenile bench by Gov. Gary Herbert in 2016 after serving on the Lehi City and Alpine/Highland City justice courts beginning in 2013; he earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University in 2004 and a law degree from Oklahoma City University in 2007, then practiced at Young, Kester & Petro and later Petro & Nielsen. He is on the 2026 nonpartisan retention ballot; the state's candidate-filing list currently uses Fourth Judicial District court language for his name.
