Gregory Keith Orme has served as a judge on the Utah Court of Appeals since January 1987, when he was appointed by Governor Norman H. Bangerter as an original member of the court. He earned a bachelor's degree magna cum laude from the University of Utah in 1975 and a law degree with high honors from George Washington University in 1978, then clerked for Judge Monroe G. McKay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and practiced as a partner at Van Cott, Bagley, Cornwall & McCarthy before his appointment. He has served as the court's presiding judge, sat on the Utah Judicial Council and other court committees, and received the Utah State Bar's Young Lawyer of the Year (1986) and Judge of the Year (2007) awards.
