About
Jim Alvey is a Republican candidate for Utah State House District 10 in the 2026 election. He is a lifelong resident of Ogden, born in 1956 at the old Dee Hospital, grew up on Harrison Boulevard, graduated from Weber State College with a degree in communications emphasizing public relations, and built a career in public relations and media, including founding Alvey Media Group after working at McKay-Dee Hospital and Intermountain Health Care. Alvey and his wife Sheri raised six sons in the district, have eight grandchildren, and have lived in District 10 for 38 years; he has served in civic roles such as with Ogden Pioneer Days and on the Young Alumni Board at Weber State.
