Kim James is a Democratic candidate for Utah House of Representatives District 8 in the 2026 general election, challenging Republican incumbent Jason Kyle. She is a retired ordained minister in the United Methodist Church with a 40-year career serving congregations in Colorado and Utah, most recently as pastor of Ogden First United Methodist Church from 2013 to 2025. James holds a BA in Philosophy and Religion, a Master in Religious Education, and a Master of Divinity, and she has advocated for social justice, community leadership, and public service in the Ogden area.
