LeAnn Wood is a wife, mother, and grandmother who graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology with an emphasis in teratology. She has over 25 years of experience as a parent volunteer in public education, serving as Utah PTA Education Commissioner and Utah PTA Advocacy Vice President, and has participated in numerous state education committees including the Accountability Redesigned Advisory Committee and the School Fees Task Force. She was elected to the Utah State Board of Education representing District 4 (Davis County, North Salt Lake, Farmington, and Bountiful) in 2022 for her first term and is the incumbent Republican candidate for the 2026 election.

Where they stand

Strong supporter of public education believes a fully funded public education system provides opportunities for children to succeed.
Supports local control primary role of the legislature should be to fund education, with general control and supervision left to the State School Board and curriculum/program decisions at the district and school level.
