Lillian Bowles is a Democratic candidate running for Utah House of Representatives District 49 in the 2026 general election, representing areas including Herriman and Riverton. She is a mother, caregiver, and grandmother who grew up in south Salt Lake County, raised a child with disabilities as a single mother, earned degrees from Salt Lake Community College and the University of Utah, worked over 20 years in financial services, served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with Utah Refugee Services, and has been involved in community advocacy including with Tapestry Against Polygamy.

Increase per-student funding for K-12 public schools, support competitive teacher pay, expand need-based scholarships and financial aid for higher education, expand career and technical education and apprenticeships, support workforce training and small business development.

Expand access to affordable housing and homeownership, address rising costs of living including groceries and utilities, improve access to affordable healthcare and reduce out-of-pocket costs, support good-paying stable jobs and fair wages.

Support working families through affordable childcare, protect worker rights and wages, invest in public safety and infrastructure, promote community involvement and local investment.
