Micah Kagan is a Democratic candidate who filed to run for Utah House of Representatives District 59 in the 2026 election. A Wasatch County resident employed in the skier services department at Deer Valley Resort, he previously worked as business development director for Leaders for Clean Air and managed the resort’s Empire Pass portfolio. He holds an undergraduate degree from George Washington University and a master’s from New York University, moved to the Park City area in 2016, is married with two sons, is an active member of Temple Har Shalom, coaches youth basketball, and volunteers at his children’s school.

Where they stand

Advocates for listening to voters in the Wasatch Back and restoring representative democracy. Opposes legislative efforts to overturn voter-approved initiatives such as the 2018 anti-gerrymandering measure (Proposition 4). Supports democratic values including due process and habeas corpus; expresses concern about democratic backsliding. Advocates for clean air, clean water, and resource conservation; skeptical of AI data centers due to potential utility cost increases.
