Michael R. Stoddard is the Libertarian Party nominee for U.S. House of Representatives in Utah's 3rd Congressional District in the 2026 general election. He previously ran for the same office as the Libertarian candidate in 2022. Stoddard is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner who has conducted government audits, including for Wasatch County, Midway, Provo City, Provo School District, Lindon City, and Community Action in Provo; he is a BYU graduate and father of five.

Where they stand

Accountability Require annual independent external audits of the federal government with firm rotation and personal certification by top officials, modeled on Sarbanes-Oxley.
Sound Money Repeal legal-tender laws, end capital-gains tax on gold and silver, audit the Federal Reserve, return money creation power to Congress, and re-anchor currency to a commodity standard.
Second Amendment Restore the constitutional militia as distinct from the National Guard, bar federalized Guard from domestic law enforcement except under narrow Insurrection Act terms, and protect the right to keep and bear arms.
