Wasatch County Council candidates debate growth, taxes and preservation
Seat A candidates Republican Rachel Kahler, Democrat Robert McNeill and conservative write-in Shawn Taylor showed up at the Wasatch County Fire District on Thursday. Seat C candidates incumbent Republican Erik Rowland and write-in Alex Folmer, a Republican who said she plans to re-register as unaffiliated, also appeared at the forum.
Rachel Kahler wants to protect Wasatch County’s character as a council member
“I have served on the Heber City Council. Managing growth is her top priority. And collaboration with other municipalities and counties, she said, should be a priority. “Obviously housing is important, but I would really hope that, as we grow, we can find ways of protecting the historic nature of our community.
Write-in candidate Jami Hewlett is not done with Wasatch County
Hewlett, a registered Libertarian, is running against Republican Rachel Kahler, Democrat Robert McNeill and write-in candidate Shawn Taylor. She filed her candidacy on Aug. This is not Hewlett’s first time seeking elected office. “Most of those issues are unfettered growth,” Hewlett said.
