Rob Bishop

Rob Bishop is a Republican candidate for Utah House District 6, which covers parts of Box Elder and Weber counties. A lifelong Utahn born in Kaysville in 1951, he previously served in the Utah House of Representatives from 1978 to 1994, including as Speaker from 1992 to 1994, and as U.S. Representative for Utah's 1st congressional district from 2003 to 2021. He was appointed to fill a vacancy in District 6 and sworn in on May 6, 2026, after selection by Republican delegates; he is also the Republican nominee for the full term in the 2026 election.

Public lands and natural resources
Longtime advocate for local control, transferring federal lands to states, and critical of federal environmental regulations such as aspects of the Endangered Species Act and Antiquities Act.

Supported a constitutional amendment allowing states to repeal federal laws by majority vote.
