Steve Eliason is a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 43 in Salt Lake County, with legislative service beginning January 1, 2011. He is a lifelong resident of the Sandy, Cottonwood Heights, and Midvale areas, holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Utah, is a CPA, and works as Senior Director of Behavioral Health Policy at the University of Utah Hospital. Eliason has passed over 100 bills on topics including election reform, public safety, education, public health, and tax reform, and has been recognized with awards for his work in public health, mental health, and education.

SALT LAKE CITY The Utah State Hospital needs dozens of new beds over the next few years to meet growing demand, administrators told lawmakers during a hearing at the Capitol.
