Steve Eliason is a Republican member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 43 in Salt Lake County, with legislative service beginning January 1, 2011. He is a lifelong resident of the Sandy, Cottonwood Heights, and Midvale areas, holds bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Utah, is a CPA, and works as Senior Director of Behavioral Health Policy at the University of Utah Hospital. Eliason has passed over 100 bills on topics including election reform, public safety, education, public health, and tax reform, and has been recognized with awards for his work in public health, mental health, and education.

Mental Health passed over 40 pieces of legislation to improve mental health, especially for youth; led effort to establish mental health crisis hotline (988); supported increased funding for school counselors and training.

Education led historic increases to public education funding without raising income taxes; supported higher education and workforce preparation.
