Steven K. Beck

Judge Steven K. Beck was appointed to the Third District Juvenile Court in July 2017 by Governor Gary R. Herbert. He serves Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties. He earned a B.S. in Political Science, a Master of Public Administration, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Utah, where he received the S. J. Quinney College of Law Outstanding Achievement Award in Juvenile Justice. Prior to his appointment, from 2005 to 2015 he prosecuted delinquency cases for the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office, and from 2015 until his appointment he defended youth as a member of Utah Juvenile Defender Attorneys. He also presides over a juvenile delinquency drug treatment court.
