About
Steven K. Beck is a judge of Utah's Third District Juvenile Court, appointed in July 2017 by Governor Gary R. Herbert to serve Salt Lake, Summit, and Tooele counties. He earned a B.S. in political science, a Master of Public Administration, and a J.D. from the University of Utah, and received the S.J. Quinney College of Law Outstanding Achievement Award in Juvenile Justice. From 2005 to 2015 he prosecuted juvenile delinquency cases for the Salt Lake County District Attorney's Office, then defended youth with Utah Juvenile Defender Attorneys until his appointment; he also presides over a juvenile delinquency drug treatment court and is on the 2026 ballot in a nonpartisan retention election.
