Thomas Peterson is a Republican incumbent representing Utah House District 1, which covers parts of Box Elder and Cache counties. He was appointed to the seat in September 2022 after Joel Ferry's departure and has served continuously since. Peterson, a Brigham City native and former Brigham City Council member, previously worked as a state building official, electrician, and contractor.
