Tracie Halvorsen is a Republican who filed to run for Utah State Senate District 18 in the 2026 election as a challenger to incumbent Sen. Dan McCay. She is a trained paralegal and has been involved in grassroots political activities in Utah, including prior unsuccessful bids for party leadership roles. Halvorsen was eliminated at the Republican nominating convention in April 2026 and did not advance to the primary.
