Verona Mauga
About
Verona Mauga is a Democratic member of the Utah House of Representatives representing District 31, which includes parts of West Valley City and Taylorsville. She assumed office on January 1, 2025, after winning election in 2024 as the first Samoan elected to the Utah State Legislature and the first Samoan woman elected to any continental state legislature. Born in Kahuku, Hawaii, to Samoan immigrant parents, she moved to Utah as a child, graduated from Alta High School, and is a small business owner operating Sagato Bakery & Cafe and other ventures with a background in mental and behavioral health.
