Wendy Davis (Democratic Party) ran in the 2026 Democratic primary for Utah House of Representatives District 40, challenging incumbent Andrew Stoddard. She is a longtime Sandy, Utah resident with a PhD in political science from the University of Utah, prior experience as a consultant in higher education and nonprofits, and community roles including chair of the Sandy City Community Development Block Grant Committee. She previously ran for Utah House District 45 in 2020 and lost the 2026 primary by less than 100 votes after a close contest at the county convention.
