2026 General Election

Unofficial results · as of 2:29 p.m. MT, Nov. 5

Counties keep counting ballots for days. The state canvass is Nov. 23; until then every count here is unofficial.

Find your ballot

Searches run in your browser and are not sent anywhere. A typed address goes from Utah News's server, without your IP address, to the U.S. Census Bureau's address lookup, only to find its location; Utah News does not save it, and the Census Bureau's own privacy policy covers its records. That point, or your device's location rounded to about 110 meters (never sent to Utah News), then goes only to the State of Utah's district and county maps (UGRC, on Esri's ArcGIS Online) and is not saved by Utah News.

Every race is listed below by district, and each county's own contests are on its page, under County results.

Balance of power

Seats by the party of the candidate leading each race now, with seats not on this year's ballot. Unofficial results · as of 2:29 p.m. MT, Nov. 5.

Utah House

75 seats
  • Democratic leading 27
  • Unaffiliated leading 2
  • Republican leading 46

If current leads hold: R 46, D 27, Unaffiliated 2 (unofficial).

15 seats would change hands if current leads hold (+13 D, +2 Unaffiliated). Before the election: R 60, D 14, 1 vacant (last held by R).

Votes for each party's candidates in the House races: R 52.0% · D 44.0% · other parties 4.0%

Utah Senate

29 seats
  • Democratic leading 6
  • Democratic, not on the ballot 2
  • Republican leading 9
  • Republican, not on the ballot 12

If current leads hold: R 21, D 8 (unofficial). Includes 14 seats not on this year's ballot.

3 seats would change hands if current leads hold (+2 D, +1 R). Before the election: R 22, D 6, Forward 1.

Votes for each party's candidates in the Senate races on the ballot: R 46.5% · D 45.0% · other parties 8.5%

U.S. House delegation

4 seats
  • Democratic leading 1
  • Republican leading 3

Delegation now R 4 · leading R 3, D 1 (unofficial).

If current leads hold, the delegation would change by +1 D (unofficial). The 2026 court-ordered map redrew all four districts, so seats are compared as a delegation.

Counts are the State of Utah's, copied as the state posts them at electionresults.utah.gov. A county's ballots arrive through the night and over the following days, and every count stays unofficial until the state canvass on Nov. 23. Utah News reports who leads and trails; it does not declare outcomes. Maps: the State of Utah's district and county boundaries (UGRC, SGID). Seats held before the election: the Utah Legislature's roster.
