Spartans host Dinos on the soccer pitch
On Tuesday, the Emery Lady Spartan soccer team welcomed the Lady Dinos to Castle Dale for the first of two meetings on the season. This was a contest pitting two programs against each other that were completely different in terms of personnel.

Lady Dino volleyball is on a roll with fourth win in a row
It was a road test for Lady Dino volleyball, starting last Thursday, beginning with a contest against Springville that turned into a weekend tournament in Stansbury Park. So they were probably pretty happy to be home on Tuesday evening to take on the North Sevier Wolves.

Carbon handles Wasps, looks toward matchup with Spartans on pitch
On Friday, the Lady Dinos closed out the non-region portion of the schedule when they faced the Juab Wasps. Both teams headed to the half tied at 2-2, but it was the Dinos who were able to make the adjustment needed to come out in the second half and close out the Wasps 5-2.

Black Canyon Fire reaches 90% containment, but monsoonal weather creates challenging travel conditions for fire crews
Fire crews continue to work tirelessly to combat the Black Canyon Fire, which, at the time of writing, is 3,264 acres in size, but significant progress has been made, with the blaze at 90% contained. Currently, a total of 53 personnel are dedicated to the fire, with seven engines currently working the blaze.
