Murder Charges Filed
Summit County prosecutors officially charged 38-year-old Austin Kenneth Garceau with murder on July 29, according to KPCW. Garceau, a resident of Salt Lake County, is being held without bail in connection with the killing of 34-year-old Enman.
Details of the Attack
According to court documents, the incident occurred at a rental home in the 500 block of Deer Valley Drive where Enman was meeting friends. At 8:30 a.m. on July 24, Enman called 911 from the residence, stating that a man named "Austin" told him he was going to kill him before stabbing him. During the emergency call, witnesses could be heard repeatedly yelling, "Austin, stop!"
Fatal Injuries Reported
Charging documents indicate that three other people were present in the home during the attack. Witnesses told police that Garceau referred to Enman as a "reptilian" before attacking him. A preliminary medical exam later revealed that Enman was stabbed more than 10 times. He was transported to a Salt Lake hospital, where he died from his injuries.
