The Utah County Planning Commission is scheduled to hold a public hearing during its regular meeting on November 17, 2026, to consider several land use proposals, according to a November 5 notice. The meeting will take place at 5:30 p.m. in Room 1400 of the Utah County Administration Building in Provo.
The commission will consider a request for a proposed comprehensive amendment to the Utah County Land General Plan. This amendment is intended to be consistent with Utah Code Ann. Title 17, Chapter 79, Part 4. The affected area for this general plan amendment is limited to land, landscapes, environmental resources, uses, and management within the political boundaries of unincorporated Utah County.
Another item on the agenda involves a request from Landmark Real Estate to amend the Official Utah County Zone Map. The proposal seeks to change the zoning for approximately 240 acres located in Section 34, T7S R2E, in the Spanish Fork/Springville area of unincorporated Utah County from a Public Facilities (PF) Zone to an Industrial (I-1) Zone.
Additionally, the commission will review a request from Ute Railway Logistics LLC for a Utah County Land Use Ordinance text amendment. The proposal would add a Rail Transfer Facility as a permitted use in the Mining and Grazing (M&G-1) Zone by amending Chapters 2, 8, and 12, among other applicable sections.
Public participation in the hearing requires being present in person at the Utah County Administration Building, located at 100 East Center Street, Provo, Utah. While the proceedings can be viewed live on YouTube under the heading UTAH COUNTY GOVERNMENT, written comments must be submitted to planningcommission@utahcounty.gov no later than 1:00 p.m. on November 17, 2026. The commission will not accept written comments or materials at the time of the meeting.
