This program follows a scheduled series of summer activities, including a previously announced bug hunt and various literacy-driven events for children.
Color Personality Path Details
The Color Personality Path, which was held on Wednesday, Aug. 19, invited children and families to walk along a designated path within the Children's Department. The interactive program aimed to help participants identify their personality through color association.
According to the Provo Library, the event was categorized as a passive program for kids and was open to a wide range of age groups, including children from birth through age 12. The program was hosted specifically in the library's Children's Department.
Upcoming Summer Activities
The personality path was part of a broader lineup of summer programming at the library. This follows the library's earlier announcement on Aug. 7 regarding a scheduled Bug Hunt. In that upcoming activity, children are encouraged to find jars of bugs hidden throughout the Children's Library.
Participants in the Bug Hunt are tasked with counting the number of bugs inside each jar. Once the count is completed, children can turn in their sheets at the Children's Desk to earn a prize. The library has scheduled this activity for several dates in late August, including Aug. 24, Aug. 25, Aug. 26, Aug. 27, Aug. 28, and Aug. 29.
Late Summer and Fall Programming
Beyond the bug hunt, the Provo Library has scheduled several other events for the remainder of August and into September. On Aug. 24, the library will host Despedida al verano on the North Patio from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., featuring bubbles, giant games, and other activities to say goodbye to summer.
For children interested in literacy and crafts, the library has several programs lined up. On Sep. 3, the library will host Tween Thursdays featuring Slingshot Cars and Library Kids - Paper Cup Robots from 4:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Registration for these programs is scheduled to open on Monday, Aug. 31.
Specialized Library Programs
The library's schedule for September includes a variety of specialized sessions for different age groups. On Sep. 6, the library will offer a Creator Kit featuring a Beaded Butterfly, which can be borrowed from the First Floor Reference Desk.
Other upcoming literacy-based events include the Word Worm program, which is scheduled for multiple days including Sep. 8, Sep. 9, Sep. 10, and Sep. 11. This program invites those who are "logolepts" to test their vocabulary in the Children's Department for a chance to win a small prize.
Community and Family Events
For older children and families, the library has planned several community-focused events. On Sep. 9, the library will host a Tween Minecraft Club from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Shaw Programming Room #260. Registration for this event opens on Sep. 7.
Other scheduled events include a LEGO Crew session for children ages 5-8 on Sep. 9, a Dungeons & Dragons quest for tweens on Sep. 14, and a Family Movie Night featuring Moana 2 on Sep. 18 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Story Room.
