An adult male was taken into custody in Mayfield around 7:00 a.m. on Aug. 28 during the execution of a search warrant, according to a report published Aug. 28.
The Richfield City Police Department executed the warrant with assistance from the Sanpete County Sheriff’s Office and the Utah Department of Public Safety’s Special Emergency Response Team.
The arrest follows a lengthy investigation conducted by the Richfield City Police Department regarding crimes that occurred in Sevier County. Upon arrival at the residence, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
The individual was transported to the Sevier County Jail and booked on 13 charges. These charges include four counts of object rape of a child, three counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, one count of rape of a child, two counts of forcible sexual abuse, and three counts of sodomy on a child. The suspect is currently being held without bail.
The Richfield City Police Department stated that the name of the suspect is not being released to protect the integrity of the victims and due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation.
