Utah men's basketball announced roster moves for the 2026-27 campaign in a news release from Salt Lake City. The University of Utah has added guard Trey Campbell, who has been cleared to practice with the team while pursuing a fifth year of eligibility.
Campbell, an Iowa native, joins the program after spending four seasons with Northern Iowa. During his time with the Panthers, he was named the 2026 MVC Tournament MOP and is a two-time All-MVC recipient. He also earned a spot on the 2026 MVC All-Defensive Team. In his career, Campbell played 134 games, averaging 10.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
Utah head men's basketball coach Alex Jensen stated that the program is excited to welcome Campbell to the Runnin' Utes family and looks forward to his contributions. Jensen also noted that the program wishes Noam Yaacov the best as he pursues other playing opportunities.
Yaacov was deemed ineligible to compete for the 2026-27 season after his NCAA waiver appeal was denied on Thursday, Aug. 20.
The Runnin' Utes have an upcoming non-conference schedule including games against UNLV, Nevada, Oregon, Long Beach State, Towson, Weber State, Eastern Washington, and Washington.
