Hyrum State Park has announced the implementation of Stage 2 Fire Restrictions. Under these regulations, there are no open fires of any kind permitted, which includes fires within established fire pits, charcoal grills, pellet grills, or any ash-producing fuel.
Properly shielded gas or liquid-fueled portable camp stoves with a shut-off valve are allowed, provided they are used in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barren and free of flammable vegetation.
The park serves as a year-round fishing destination for species such as bass, trout, perch, bluegill, and wipers, which were introduced by the DWR in 2024. During the summer, the park offers a beach along with opportunities for boating and water sports.
Hyrum State Park features 32 campsites, two cabins, and one large group site. The facility is located approximately 20 minutes from downtown Logan and provides access to nearby hiking, biking, and OHV trails.
For those using the water, any watercraft that has been in Lake Powell or outside of the state within the previous 30 days must undergo inspection before entering Hyrum Reservoir. The boat ramp is currently open, though courtesy docks are scheduled to be pulled on November 3rd.
The park is open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., and visitors must display a valid park pass. Annual passes can be purchased online at parkspass.utah.gov.
Campsites are available on a first-come, first-served basis via self-pay envelope. While the dry restroom is open, traditional restrooms and the fish cleaning station have been winterized for the season. Summer camping reservations can be made through reserveamerica.com or by calling 800-322-3770 at least two days in advance.
