Hundreds of middle school students from around the district attended an annual Career Fair at Southern Utah University to explore future career possibilities. The event featured presenters from various organizations, including the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources and several healthcare providers.
In addition to career presentations, students received information regarding nearby educational opportunities from Southwest Technical College, Utah Tech University, and Southern Utah University.
Cedar Middle School has also seen recent infrastructure developments following the approval of a 2021 bond. The district utilized these funds to construct a new band and choir wing at Cedar Middle School, which adds 19,687 square feet to the facility. The project, which cost $12.8 million, also included additional classrooms totaling 8,595 square feet and was completed by approximately 40 different contractors. Superintendent Dr. Lance Hatch noted that the additions were necessary to address enrollment growth at the middle school level.
The Iron County School District continues to provide various community resources and updates, including information on student nutrition programs and upcoming school events.
