Watering Recommendations
You may have noticed that the Utah Division of Water Resources weekly watering guide is currently recommending three watering days per week in our area. This guide offers weather-based recommendations to help residents understand how much water landscapes typically need from week to week.
Regional Conservation Goals
At the same time, Jordan Valley Water Conservancy District is encouraging residents to water two days per week or less to help meet regional conservation goals and respond to current supply conditions.
These recommendations serve different purposes:

Local guidance takes into account our broader water supply conditions and long-term conservation goals.
City Initiatives and Resident Action
Here in our city, we are supporting regional conservation efforts by reducing our own outdoor water use by 10 percent at City facilities.
We encourage residents to join us by finding ways to use 10 percent less water at home—whether that’s adjusting sprinkler run times, fixing leaks, or skipping a watering cycle when your lawn doesn’t need it. Most established lawns remain healthy with less water than we often think, especially when irrigation is efficient.
